Charity

Raas Rodeo 2012 donated $3500 to Baal Dan Charities. Baal Dan is a United States, non-profit organization. It was founded by Tanya Pinto to bring hope to children in need. The charity leverages the strength of the US dollar and collaborates with schools, orphanages, and NGO’s to raise funds and awareness in the United States. Any profits from the show will go towards schooling, food, clothing, and medicines for the children in India.

The Baal Dan Student Chapter at UT Austin was founded in Spring 2007. In this short period of time, the student chapter has successfully raised thousands of dollars from on-campus fundraising events, such as:

  • Dodgebaal Dan: an annual dodgeball tournament with over 30 participating teams unifying the UT Austin college community
  • Baal Danquet: a multicultural banquet that features performances from local and on-campus groups

For the 2011-2012 academic year, the student chapter hopes to raise a total of $8,000 dollars for the national organization and spread community awareness of Baal Dan’s charitable goals.

Raas Rodeo hopes to help Baal Dan in their attainment of funds for charitable causes. By participating in Raas Rodeo 2012, your support will help donate to a charitable group whose sole focus is providing opportunities for the disadvantaged children of India.
